Didn’t follow any recipes this time. Started rice first:
Rice:
1 cup rice
1 1/3 cup chicken broth
1/2 tbsp butter
1tsp cumin seeds
rice was a little on the dry side. May have been either the pot or, really the lack of water. Will need to watch next time. It was still tasty though.
Onions were started next. Vertically sliced, started to sautee with extra virgin olive oil.
Pork Chops were defrosted in the fridge, salted, peppered, and mapled (smokehouse seasoning) generously on both sides, and then allowed to cook for at least 6 minutes on each side.
Chicken broth and onion were used to deglaze plan. it was a little salty. Probably because the pan used to fry the pork chops was also used to season the chops, and the glaze got all the extra salt.
Note to self. Everyone wants more rice.
Green beans came from the can. Didn’t add any salt, should do it next time.
Was tasty, but Grace says that she likes her meat salty, not sweet. And just to reiterate, more rice. Not one cup, maybe 1.5 cups?
