Made general tsao’s chicken following this recipe:

I messed up lots, but it still tasted decent. Gracie made the sauce. I added way too much cornstarch and egg, and even though it didn’t look like I coated the chicken well, there is still a thick film of breading on the outside. I really like cornstarch batters — it leaves minimal mess.
Don’t stir the sauce onto the chicken over high heat, I think it burnt the sauce a little.
It was good for a first attempt — ought to try again with the remaining chicken.
Grace also made nice broccoli by just boiling it in salt water.
