One thing she showed me was how an initial high sear can really, well, make a nice sear:
We learned that frying mashed potatoes in the wok to fix undercooked potatoes was not a good idea:

Gracie: Don’t rush cooking. Moral of the story- second moral- Mushrooms are Awesome. 3rd, Powdered gravy will always taste like powdered gravy, but mushrooms will make it better. Always. 4th. Pork is underrated, and as long as you get a good thick, marbled cut, it’ll be amazing. 5th. DON’T RUSH COOKING.
