Made this savory chickpea salad with grilled chicken when I had overcooked some chickpeas. I didn’t have time/energy to make full out masala, so I just made the onions with all the masala ingredients (chipotle pepper, masala spices, no tumeric, chopped dried serrano), and then combined it with the chickpeas. The result still tastes really good — and it led me to eat the above salad without and dressing. A high protein salad, minus the fatty dressing. Huzzah! The chickpeas still taste good, and more neutral — less tomato acid. A good choice for overcooked chickpeas that will only yield chana masala mush.
