Wanted to write some tips on making sweet oatmeal.
Use mostly, if not all milk. I added a touch of cream and water.
instant oats are edible in 1 min, but for gooey goodness, it will take at least 10-15 minutes. Make it ahead of time.
I added copious amounts of brown sugar. Think instant oatmeal packets — it won’t be extremely healthy, but it will make it sweet and delectable. Don’t over-sweeten, otherwise it’d be just like eating a bowl of sugar.\
Not sure if I agree with all the proposed instructions, but food for thought in the following oatmeal links:

1. Toast the Oats First
2. Keep Your Hands Off
3. Boil Water First and Use Less of It

I made oatmeal that was too sweet. 🙁 And then later I added heavy cream to it and made it “dessert oatmeal” (much more bearable)
And today I found out my oatmeal ratio/recipe!
Boil: 1 cup milk and a scant 2 T brown sugar
Add in 1/2 cup oats
and cook for awhile. (more than a minute, or it’s not as creamy, as prescribed before)
It’s kinda a 8:4:1 ratio! But a scant 1.
Tasty!
